Ouch
A friend of mine passed away last night. It wasn’t surprising considering how sick he’s been, but the hopeful side of me was expecting more time. I was going to see him on Sunday for his 77th birthday party. Now I have to try and get off work so I can go to his funeral tomorrow…

I waited until the 4th to do hourlies since my weekdays are soooo incredibly boring. I’ve attempted hourlies before, but gave up halfway through the day out of boredom. I knew the 4th would be a good day to do it since I had plans to go out and actually DO something. So this was...

I Finally Saw Hugo
And I loved it! I actually had no idea what it was about and was delightfully surprised! I found out afterwards that it’s based on a book called “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” which is a historical fiction about what happened to Georges Melies after his film career fizzled out. While fanciful, many little details were actually pretty accurate. I studied some of his films in...

rosalarian replied to your post: Comixpress is THE WORST printer I have ever come across IN MY LIFE! The books were flimsy, the ink would come off the cover on my hands, and they never sent 1/4 of my order and didn’t give a shit. They’re TERRIBLE.
I use 360 Digital Books. Their set up cost is a little high (especially if you make mistakes like I did) and the turn around time can...

USPS!!!!!
Where is my package? Why is is marked as delivered? I have no package! It’s not on my stoop. It’s not in the back hall. It’s not on the ground. My neighbors don’t have it. It’s not something valuable so I doubt someone stole it. So where is it?!
Waaagh! >:-| I wouldn’t be so upset if I didn’t have to wait until Monday to have this...

I have to make an important decision...
And I hope I have enough courage to follow what’s in my heart and not what everyone expects of me.
cherrrrybombb asked: Hey there :) Saw your post about cernit from ages ago and I just wanted to share my experience :) cernit is by far the best clay I've ever worked with! Have no idea who advertised it as soft but I can assure you it's not. Here's how you can save an old, unworkable package :) Try conditioning it with wet hands. Keep your hands wet and when the clay gets almost liquid and unworkable...

“It’s Okay to be Neither,” By Melissa Bollow Tempel
Allie arrived at our 1st-grade classroom wearing a sweatshirt with a hood. I asked her to take off her hood, and she refused. I thought she was just being difficult and ignored it. After breakfast we got in line for art, and I noticed that she still had not removed her hood. When we arrived at the art room, I...

GAAAAAASP!
I can get La Doll clay at Michaels?! :-O I remember when this clay was IMPOSSIBLE to find in the states. I was surprised that Blick had it!
I’m going to go get some today so I can make dollies this weekend as planned! And then I’ll have more when my Blick order arrives. :-3 I really want to try the Cernit, too, but that can wait. I have like a million cabochons so I can try...
No Magic Involved
I talked to Blick and they said that Cernit is not supposed to be super firm or hard to condition by hand. They offered to replace the big block I bought, but I was worried that I would get another bad one so I used my credit to get:
- A SMALL block of Cernit (so I can try again) - A package of La Doll Premier (as a back up) - And a PITT Artist Pen (‘cause I could)
YAY! :-D
My poor...

Polymer Clay Wizards?
Do I have to be a wizard to use polymer clay? Or did I just get a bad batch?
I bought a big block of Cernit online because: a) It’s advertised as being soft and easy to use right out of the package and b) It’s one of the stronger clays when fired.
This block is super hard! I tried conditioning a small piece for TWO HOURS to no avail. All I managed to do was to make it a little...

The Dead Pixels in my Life
One of the 3D screens in my 3DS has a dead pixel. It’s really weird because I guess the 3D screen is actually two screens layered over each other so it can project two different images to your eyes, creating a 3D effect. When the 3D is on, I can make the dead pixel disappear if I’m careful about the angle I hold the console at. If the 3D is off, the dead pixel is really noticeable.
